Give me your wild

May 26, 2020

Just looking back at old poetry and reflecting...

At a time like this, it's really important to reflect and take comfort in the things which cost nothing which for me, during times of change, uncertainty or stress was always just to listen to my own heart, my own observations of others around me and my own thoughts...
Give me your wild

Give me sweat and sour and all your clamour;
the very rantings of your fragile thoughts
Give me sweetest breath of your desire,
Let me take amusement in your dot to dots.

Give me all the worries of your ancient whispers;
your confidences, your hushes and the murmuring tongue.
Give me great un-saids of wild-wood sisters
stirring fears that keep you on the run.

Give me all your moons and all their glories,
all the bright scintillas of your stars that fall.
Give your bleeding days and bruised-black stories;
sharp star-splinters forcing you to crawl.

Give me time to free you from your corners
your dark and brooding nature when you don’t aspire.
Give me space to set aside your ‘warners’.
Let me keep your flaming mind on fire.

Show yourself that you are capable of so much more than worry by stopping to take time to breathe, stand still, look at yourself closely and know how far you’ve come.

When was the last time (before this pandemic took root and made us prisoners in our own homes) that you really stopped to look at, feel close to, listen to, touch or consider the immense power of the mighty trees that gives shelter above your head?
