To kiss her

May 3, 2020

I don't know about all of you out there but I've always loved kissing! Kissing of any kind brings me infinite happiness, comfort and joy.

Whether it's the first tender kiss gently placed from a loving parent to their baby, the comforting kiss offered to a scraped knee as a toddler, the kiss of a visiting auntie on birthdays, high days and holidays, the never-forgotten first kiss of young love, the kisses we casually throw away as we brush our hands across our face and wave them out into the world or the deeply meaningful...
Kissing is wonderful and right now during this Coronavirus pandemic, kissing is a no-go area. So here's to the day when I can get back to doing something that brings me a huge big comfort blanket of happiness, love and joy!

My creative offering to you today :
To kiss her

To kiss her
he holds her throat
a gorget
to her life-speak
lays his hand upon her cheek
with finger-dance
weaves soft
her hair

To kiss her
he holds his heart
a pupa
of her white tears
layers his fears into her hope
his tidal-body
moves
her land.

To kiss her
he breaks her silence
breathes to free
all forms of breathing
tight-grips
her life-beat
with his mouth
his loving lip
dissolves
her pain

Show yourself that you are capable of so much more than worry by stopping to take time to breathe, stand still, look at yourself closely and know how far you’ve come.

When was the last time (before this pandemic took root and made us prisoners in our own homes) that you really stopped to look at, feel close to, listen to, touch or consider the immense power of the mighty trees that gives shelter above your head?
